About Shakira


Shakira was born on February 2, 1977 in Barranquilla, Colombia. She is the only one child of her parents,Nidya del Carmen Ripoll Torrado and William Mebarak Chadid. They are from Lebanese,Spanish and Italian desent.She has eight older half-siblings from her father's previous marriage.In arabic language Shakira means "thankful".Her second name, Isabel, is also that of her paternal grandmother, meaning "my God is my oath", "my God's house" or "my God is abundance", and her name is a Spanish given name for Elizabeth.Her second surname name Ripoll is Catalan. She spent much of her youth in Barranquilla, a city located in northern Colombia. Shakira's business acumen is often attributed to a high IQ, which is reported in the entertainment press to be 140."The Cristal Rose" was the frist poem worte bye her.She asked her father typewritter as gift of cristmas.When shakira was four,er father took her a restuarant where she first listened doumbek,a drum use for arabic music which was palyed for belly dance,at that time shakira danced on table and all the peple of that restruarant were claping for shakira for her bally dance.After that she is turned into a popular  Colombian singer, songwriter, musician, record producer, dancer, and philanthropist who emerged as a musical prodigy in the music scene of Latin America in the early 1990s.She was very popular for her belly dance.Now-a-days Shakira Know as a popular singer as well as a popular belly dancer also.
